A honeymoon
that changed everything
Bali Serendipity was never meant to be a business plan. It wasn’t spreadsheets or projections that brought us here. It was a honeymoon. We are Tsveti and Zheko, a Bulgarian couple who traveled 15,000 kilometers from home with nothing more than curiosity and a return ticket. We didn’t know much about Bali — only that it was filled with nature, temples, and beauty. But the moment we stepped out of the airport in Denpasar, something shifted. The scent in the air. The lush green surroundings. The quiet rhythm of life.
The abandoned
construction in Sanur.
During our stay, we were introduced, almost by accident to an unfinished building on Jl. Kutat Lestari 7. Concrete walls. Dust. No clear future. We laughed at the idea. Who invests on the other side of the world? That same evening we visited a traditional Balinese mangku. When he told us that we would create a small miracle that very day, we smiled politely. We flew home. With a baby on the way. And a feeling that Bali wasn’t finished with us.
From uncertainty
to opening day
Four months later, Zheko returned to Bali and signed the deal. What once stood abandoned slowly transformed into Bali Serendipity. A boutique hotel in Sanur created with intention, patience, and heart. We opened in February 2020. One month later, the world stopped. Borders closed. The island fell silent. No guests. No flights. For 18 months, we asked ourselves did we just make the biggest mistake of our lives?
All in
or not at all
When Bali reopened, we tried managing everything from Europe while raising two small children and balancing corporate careers in sales and marketing. It worked but it wasn’t enough. So in 2024, we made the decision to commit fully. We invested in our second project. Packed our lives into four suitcases. And in June 2025, we moved permanently to Bali. Not for adventure. For alignment. We wanted our children to grow up outdoors. To live slowly. To build something meaningful.
European standards
Balinese heart
Today, Bali Serendipity is a locally managed boutique hotel and private villas in Sanur, Bali. We bring our European background in sales, marketing, and operations into hospitality — improving systems, communication, and every small guest detail. But what truly defines us is not strategy. It is care. We treat our guests as friends. We believe hospitality still matters. We believe travel should feel personal.
Our promise
to our guests
When you stay with us, you are not just booking a room. You are stepping into a story that changed our lives. We promise to welcome you with respect, warmth, and attention to every detail. And we promise to help you feel the same magic we felt the first time we arrived in Bali.
